Located just six kilometers from the CBD, Assured Ascot Quays Apartment Hotel is excited to announce that after over 10 years of successful operation, they have made some big changes within their onsite restaurant – 150 EAST.

As of 20 May 2015 the restaurant has taken on a more relaxed and informal approach to both service and menu options offering casual, relaxed riverside dining with great value for money and delicious seasonal meals.

Assured Ascot Quays’ General Manager, Brendan Craig says, “Prior to the changes we would have been classed more higher end/special occasion dining, but we have now made a massive shift towards what market trends are calling for offering a faster paced, more relaxed dining and bar experience at a sharper price point.

“We have engineered our beverage menus to opt for local favourites, stocked up on the most popular ciders and revised our cocktail menu to include classics such as Espresso Martinis and Mojito.

“We have stripped back our formal service style and completely changed the way 150 EAST operates from the table settings right through to the staff attire. We are going for a more trendy, fun and less intimidating approach.”

Changes also include an exciting new Executive Chef, new Food & Beverage Manager, new opening hours and a new seasonal menu offering better value for money and including share plates and signature dishes from the new Chef.

Executive Chef, Andrew Dunn, will lead the team at 150 EAST, with a strong background in cooking Italian food. Andrew moved from Sydney to Perth in 2013 and has spent the past 18 months as Head Chef at the iconic Boulevard Hotel in Floreat. Andrew Dunn

Andrew has over 20 years experience in different styles of cooking; ranging from casual café cuisine to fine dining, but he intends to make his mark in Perth at the head of 150 EAST with his new and exciting seasonal Winter Menu.

Andrew comments, “The menu can be best described as Modern Australian cuisine with an Italian influence, inspired by a winter theme using seasonal ingredients and where possible, all sourced locally.”

His signature main is ‘Crispy skinned salmon fillet, cauliflower purée, winter vegetables, toasted almonds’ and signature dessert is ‘Chocolate silken tart with hazelnut crumb and raspberry gelato.’

General Manager, Brendan concludes, “People don’t realise when they see us from the Highway that we have sweeping river views, so we hope all these changes will entice more people to just come down and share a plate with friends over a few drinks whilst taking in the stunning view of the Swan.”

Their Menu is still listing that weekend breakfast ends at 10am seriously! This is obviously aimed at the hotel guests and not us locals if they want to entice us then they need to go a wee bit further in their “relaxed dining approach”
