2015 Gluten Free Food & Healthy Living Expo

The eighth annual Gluten Free Food & Healthy Living Expo has the biggest line up of exhibitors and stage presentations ever, with visitors expected to spend quite a bit of time discovering new food and health options from the 60 companies on show and taking in one of the 10 seminars or 18 cooking demonstrations over the two days.

The expo is fortunate in having Australia’s leading authority on coeliac disease and irritable bowel syndrome, Dr Sue Shepherd appearing back in Perth for the first time in six years. Both conditions rely on special diets to treat them – the gluten free diet (coeliac disease) and the low FODMAP diet (IBS). Sue will give up to date information on both – and how to ensure people are on the correct pathway for their own symptoms or condition. Supporting the headline seminar on the Main Stage will be Kris Kern talking about the 5 diet myths that keep you struggling with your weight. On the Education Stage, two sessions daily will be presented; Getting Wise on Portion Size from Diabetes WA and The Social, Positive Coeliac from Coeliac WA.

Two cooking stages will host demonstrations for gluten free food ideas and recipes.

On the Coles Stage, ex MasterChef finalists Michael Weldon and Courtney Roulston will share six sessions daily including recipes for chicken & kale lemon Caesar salad, chilli pork noodles, cumin grilled chicken with quinoa tabouli and even a kids show with gluten free cupcakes.

The Expo Stage will feature Melbourne based chef Rick Grant showing how to prepare tasty gluten free and allergen friendly food. Laila Gampfer will show off some of her raw food recipes and Latasha Menon will demonstrate her quick spicy treats and moreish family meals.

There is a fantastic line up of exhibitors including many new companies on show including 123 Gluten Free baking goods, Latasha’s Kitchen, Eve’s Better Bake, Kez’s Kitchen, Vintage Style Cakes & Cookies, Lupin Foods, Barilla, Delish Ice, Turban Chopsticks and of course many of the favourites with both new food to taste and their traditional lines.
