Perth is quickly becoming one of Australia’s top food destinations. With new and innovative eateries and bars popping up here there and everywhere, it’s bringing out the foodie in everyone. From being the home to one of Australia’s first crowdfunded restaurants, to cafes which prefer our four-legged friends over us to offering a huge array of hawkers markets and food festivals. We know how to make good food and we are darn good at eating it too!

We all know a great day starts with a great breakfast. It’s safe to say that there are an endless number of Perth breakfast spots to choose from. Sometimes though, when you’ve had a hard week or the kids have kept you up all night, it’s just as nice to treat yourself to a home cooked brekkie. Give the other half a nudge and suggest breakfast in bed so you can relax in your cosy pyjamas and hey, make sure they know where to find the champagne glasses too!

Not only is Western Australia amazing for dining out but we also make some top notch food products to enjoy at home. And what’s even better is that there are so many amazing WA food products which can take your next home cooked breakfast from great to mouth-wateringly delicious in seconds. Here’s 5 of our favourites:

The Truffle & Wine Co Hazelnuts in Truffle HoneyThe Truffle & Wino Co Hazelnuts in Truffle Honey - Just In Time Gourmet - Breakfast Perth

Hazelnuts grown in the majestic region of Manjimup soaked in ooey-gooey honey infused with the indulgent flavours of truffle, drooool. Yes this honey pot by The Truffle & Wine Co could be eaten straight out of the jar however it also makes a good condiment over yogurt, cereal and fruit. If you’re really looking to indulge, pour it over a stack of buttermilk pancakes topped with vanilla ice-cream for the naughtiest but tastiest breakfast treat.

Angus Ogilive Dark Plum & Onion Ketchup Angus Ogilive Dark Plum & Onion Ketchup - Just In Time Gourmet - Breakfast Perth

We are blessed with nearly year-round good weather here in Perth which means we are barbeque fanatics. Bacon, eggs, sausages and hash browns done on the BBQ to start off a Saturday morning is the breakfast of champions. If you love a little tomato sauce to wash down your savoury breakfast then you must try the Angus Ogilive Dark Plum and Onion Ketchup. With a bit of spice kick it’ll compliment your grilled brekkie down to a tee.

Ogilive & Co Chardonnay PearsOgilive & Co Chardonnay Pears - Just InTime Gourmet - Breakfast Perth

We warn you, these drunken pears are addictive! You cannot go past this awesome product by the team at Ogilive & Co to put on your next breakfast menu. Freshly poached pears are combined with juicy muscatel wine grapes and soaked in Chardonnay syrup with a sprinkling of cinnamon. Pop these juicy gems on a bowl full of granola and yoghurt or match them with an early morning cheeseboard. It’s never too early for cheese!

MyattsField Pinot Noir Chardonnay NV Sparkling Wine 500mlMyattsField Pinot Noir Chardonnay NV Sparkling Wine 500ml - MyattsField - Breakfast Perth

No breakfast condiment list is complete without a bottle of bubbles. Rachel Davenport the winemaker behind the MyattsField bubbles is known as the ‘Sparkling Queen of the Perth Hills’ and there is very good reason for this as she makes one heck of a sparkling wine. This 500ml bottle is slightly smaller than your average wine bottle which makes it perfect for a couple of glasses to aid breakfast. Whether you’re having toast, cereal, pancakes or bacon and eggs, sparkling wine goes with everything – take our word for it!

The Berry Farm Whisky Marmalade The Berry Farm Whisky Marmalade - Just In Time Gourmet - Breakfast Perth

If you haven’t visited The Berry Farm in Margaret River yet, then we suggest you do! This is one of their many fabulous spreads that we are simply hooked on. The dash of whisky takes this traditional jar of marmalade to that next level. Plus we love how there are no artificial additives, no preservatives and only all-natural ingredients in it. Team this up with a warm piece of toast, fresh muffin or swirl it through oatmeal or yoghurt.

Are you drooling over the screen yet? We sure are and that’s not even the tip of the ice-berg as Western Australia is home to a countless number of tasty foodie products perfect for your next home-cooked breakfast. Enjoy these condiments with locally made bread, fruit, eggs, meats and you have WA on a plate for brekkie!

Whiskey is a constant in my life. It is my go to beverage on both good or bad days, rain, hail or shine. To discover that there is a whiskey marmalade, my only response is thst ‘I need it in my life’ Just when I thought mornings couldn’t get any better. :)

I’m torn…I’d go the Swing in to Spring because it’s almost Spring and I do like to swing.
BUT THEN I see caffeine, and chocolate, oh the chocolate and OMG the One Class Act…wouldn’t be very classy of me to pour the bottle into that amazing bowl and drink from there though, would it? I’d be super happy with any hamper really, something to spoil me for once!

Move over Winter, Spring is about to be SPRUNG into action at the arrival of “Swing into Spring Picnic Basket”.

Can this question be any more difficult?!!! One of the great blessings in Perth is the wonderful weather and outdoor areas that just screams PICNIC to me. So after this cold winter, I’d love to “Swing into Spring” with the picnic basket hamper! One of my favourite things to do!

Dark plum & onion ketchup for sure!

The Divine Decadance hamper seems outrageously divine to me. I think it would be doubly divine to share this with my nearest and dearest.

I love whiskey, and I love marmalade , so being able to combine both and at breakfast time sounds like a complete and utter treat!

  • Reply Wendy 13 July, 2015 at 9:16 pm

I think I need the Grape Gatsby for a ritzy picnic in Kings Park followed by several cocktails in the city and ending up at Ellingtons for some smooth jazz to complete the delicious literary experience 😉

  • Reply Graham Corcoran 13 July, 2015 at 10:08 pm

It has to be the Truffle & Wine Company’s Hazlenuts in Truffle Honey. I have the pancakes and ice cream ready and waiting…

  • Reply Sophie 13 July, 2015 at 10:36 pm

It’s gotta be the ‘All You Need Is Cheese’ hamper!! I am a cheese addict but I rarely have great stuff on the side to accompany it, because, well, CHEESE. I’m dying to try most of those Ogilvie & Co products though. Also, I don’t want to get too extreme but I’m definitely going to have to order the Truffle Hill Truffle Mustard, how did I not know this existed til right now????

  • Reply Alex 15 July, 2015 at 7:41 am

The truffle honey – that sounds amazing and something I’ve never heard of before. I bet it would be delicious on hot buttered crumpets for breakfast!

  • Reply Martine @ chompchomp 19 July, 2015 at 8:37 pm

So easy. The truffle Kerfuffle hamper. Because I cannot ingest enough truffle every winter

    • Reply Liz 19 July, 2015 at 9:34 pm

hahah I guessed you would pick truffle! <3

Our family celebrations are centered around picnics. As children our gourmet picnic basket consisted of Vegemite sandwiches and Coles $1 donuts.
I have since started the tradition with my own family beginning with our wedding day. Our bridal party shared a gourmet hamper created by my sister in law. In the hamper it contained nougat from the Margret River region and for that reason the “Grape Gatsby Hamper” caught my eye.
Our next anniversary will be 10 years, this hamper would be a great surprise to share with my husband and two children on our annual picnic.

Since having a baby my life of food consists of bland toasties, coffee, baby purée and whatever I can shove in my mouth. so I’d have to go the Big Daddy Gift Hamper. Spice up my life with Hazelnut Dukkah (with a little creatures beer) , steam some chicken with coconut lime and corianda marinade, (with a few glasses/bottle of Harman’s Ridge Verjus ) and indulge in rocky road and chocolate liqueur sauce for dessert. The black tin will be a perfect ice bucket for my new house or double as a new age baby bath?

Ohh such a tough decison but i think it would have to be The Truffle & Wine Co Hazelnuts in Truffle Honey… this sounds amazing!. I am imagining it for breakfast with my greek yogurt… delicious, i am hungry at the thought of trying it :)
