The Naked Fig will host a ‘boob booth’ on Friday 25th July 2014 from 5-7pm to support The Breast Intentions project in raising money for breast cancer support and research. Girls and guys are encouraged to donate $5 to bare their chests and breasts in an anonymous, private photo with photographer Jacqui Simons.
The up close and personal images will be collated into a collage that from a distance depicts one large scenic image in a unique piece of artwork to be auctioned off. Funds raised from donations and the auction will go towards the Cancer Council’s Pink Ribbon Day Appeal.
Co-owner of The Naked Fig, Lorna Marns, says this charity event is one with a difference that The Naked Fig is happy to support. “We all know someone affected by breast cancer and this is a great initiative that helps support those in need. We are all about promoting positive body image at The Naked Fig and being able to combine this with a creative, artistic concept like The Breast Initiative is very exciting,” said Ms Marns.
Jacqui Simons started The Breast Intentions project earlier in 2014, and aims to collect images of 2000 breasts and chests throughout the year. “We are thrilled that The Naked Fig has come on board to support us in our first foray into boob shoots in the big smoke!
“The project has really taken off right from the get go with over 60 people showing up for our first boob shoot in Margaret River. Since then we have held events in Dunsborough, Busselton and Denmark,” said Ms Simons.
The one off super sized acrylic print will be auctioned off with funds going directly to the Cancer Council’s Pink Ribbon Day Appeal. Smaller prints will be for sale online to the participants and general public once the large print has been released.
