Italian Live Lounge in Bassendean

Italian Live Lounge

Premiering at Perth’s Fringe World Festival on 20th February 2016 in Bassendean, Italian Live Lounge is an innovative cultural event created to celebrate contemporary Italian music and food.

A team made up of Italian-Australian feature female singer Monique, a band of high calibre musicians, and food and wine specialists, have been brought together for the event, which will be held at the Swan Districts Football Club in Bassendean, a suburb with a rich history in the Italian-Australian community.

Upon entering, guests will find the venue transformed into a sleek and sophisticated live music lounge where they will enjoy the unique experience of being immersed in the contemporary and present-day Italian culture, right here, in Perth. Monique-8714

While indulging gastronomically, guests will be entertained with a two hour show (including a half hour intermission) led by dynamic Italian-Australian singer Monique. Backed by a professional band of musicians and backing vocalists, Monique will showcase some of the biggest hits in the Italian contemporary music scene from the 90s to present day, interpreting songs by artists including Laura Pausini, Giorgia, Annalisa Minetti, Alexia, Dirotta su Cuba, and Marina Rei.

Since its main introduction in Australia in the 1950s, Italian cuisine has become an integral part of the Australian culinary culture—a far cry from the times when olive oil was only sold in pharmacies, for medicinal purposes, and the opening of the first espresso bars were a novel concept for Australians.

At Italian Live Lounge, modern Italian aperitifs and signature cocktails will be available for guests to enjoy, along with exquisite Italian cuisine prepared by food and wine specialists.

The audience will experience the highest level of innovative artistic presentation, leaving a lasting memory of the concert which will further the appreciation of the Italian culture and its people.

Italian Live Lounge will be established as a premier annual cultural event in the Western Australian calendar.

Located just 220 metres from Success Hill train station and with ample parking onsite and on surrounding streets, the location is accessible and convenient for attendees.

I love Italian food! My favourite would be a beautiful bowl of chilli mussels with some amazing Italian crusty bread to soak up the delicious soupy freshness. Just the right amount of spicy…yum.

I love all Italian food, but my favourite is pasta. I love a good prawn penne with a creamy tomato sauce. In Perth, my favourite is the salmon penne at Delisio in ENEX 100, their pasta is restaurant quality!

I could list off all the pastas that I like but there is one dessert that I have to order every time it’s on a menu: Panna Cotta. I go pretty crazy for that stuff even if it’s vanilla with nothing else on it. The texture is like nothing else

Being Italian this is a very hard decision for me! Hrmmm…. My favourite food is probably baccala which is a dried cod dish which is popular around Easter time.
