When you think of the words “breakfast buffet” what comes to mind? For me it’s dry eggs, rubbery bacon, lining up to toast stale bread, pancakes you can throw as frisbees and fruit that has that hint of fermentation.
I travel a lot for work and I stay at a range of hotels and mine site camps. Don’t believe the rumours about FIFO workers getting to eat like kings on sites… some camps provide less to workers than what prisoners get. It’s ok if you love onion and sausages I guess.
Forget all your bad buffet experiences and listen to this… Atrium buffet at the Crown Metropol is the best breakfast buffet in Perth. It is a smorgasbord of international food on steroids.
The scrambled eggs are creamy, hash browns crispy, the bread is fresh, the waffles are made to order and there are chefs… REAL chefs with fancy white hats on turning that food over like it’s no ones business.
The best part about this place is that you can have WHATEVER you want. Feel like dim sum with a side of scrambled eggs? No problem! Wants some curry with that waffle? Go right ahead! Want to to pile your plate high with every big breakfast ingredient ever? Sure thing! The only limit is your imagination and there is just something quite decadent about going to the Crown for breakfast.
My dear friend Kristi treated me to this wonderland of food for my birthday. Her gorgeous daughter sat in her highchair charming the pants off anyone who walked past. So yep – this place is also kid friendly. There were a lot of tables of families with kids of different ages. Seeing the kids around the buffet, eyes as wide as saucers… imagine being able to have waffles with chocolate sauce for breakfast!
The coffee is your typical filter coffee and it’s not too bad but can you pay extra and ask for a “real” coffee to be made for you. Or a bloody mary… you know… anything goes at the Cas! There are also juices available which are included in the buffet.
Here is the pricing:
Full breakfast buffet Mon-Sat – $39 (kids $19.50)
Continental breakfast buffet Mon – Sat – $30 (kids $15) … seriously… who orders the continental at a buffet?
Sunday Brunch – $65 (kids $32.50).
Why is Sunday nearly double the price? Well the Sunday buffet now includes lunch options including oysters! I don’t know about you guys but I could eat $65 worth of oysters alone!
Be warned, if you’re making a large group booking they do take a deposit and will charge for no shows.Crown Metropol Complex, Great Eastern Hwy Burswood.
