Menu Magazine

7 January, 2011

A while ago I was contacted by Scott Arnold-Eyers from Menu Magazine about an article they were doing on food blogs. He asked if I would be interested in being interviewed for the feature as he had been told about my blog by a contact of his at Citigate hotel. I was flattered that someone from Citigate hotel had recommended my blog! Of course I said “yes”… what a great opportunity for some exposure for my blog and more importantly for breakfast in Perth!

I met with writer Tegan Read to discuss food blogging and about the beginnings of my own blog. The feature is on page 41 of the issue and local blogger Kristy Leigh from Kristy Leigh’s Food for Thought was also interviewed. Beaufort Street Blog and Abstract Gourmet also featured in the write up.

Menu Magazine is a great read for Perthites as it is purely West Australian based.  There are some great articles in this issue including an interview with Iron Chef Kenichi, profiles & reviews on some of Perth cafes and restaurants and also an informative article on food photography (useful for the food bloggers!). I can see my copy getting dog eared before long with all the great articles to read!

This is the 10th issue and also the 10th anniversary for their website What a great milestone to reach – congratulations to their team and thank you for featuring Breakfast in Perth blog.

So fellow foodies – make sure you pick up a copy of this fantastic local magazine at your local newsagent!

    >Hey Liz! Happy new year! And a big congratulations for the feature! I will definitely get a copy! Wow, u must be excited! But its no surprise that they asked u anyway, because really, your breakfast blog is awesome, different because it features a meal that most people tend to neglect sometimes!
I hope your blog will get more exposure!

-sorry been so busy haven't written that 'report' on breakfast at the pony's! But, I had a gorgeous birthday breakfast, food was great, although my eggs slightly overcooked. But service was excellent. Had an awesome time!
Almost chose The George for birthday breakfast but good thing I didn't! Was very disappointed with the service for my bday dinner and drinks with friends that night!! Food was nothing to shout about too. Too 'silly' to walk all the way to Ambar, ended up at tiger Lils instead!

Mmm… I feel like breakfast food for lunch! Moroccan baked spicy eggs, onions, spinach and a few strips of dried apricots!

Have a great weekend and a fantastic year Ms Breakfast in Perth!

    >Thanks Mans!

The service at the Pony club is top notch… glad you thought so too. I think we had issues with the eggs too but overall it was still really good.

I am yet to try The George for food…. still wanna check it out though.

I hope you have a great weekend too.

Congratulations on being featured in Menu Mag as well :-) It is an honour to be mentioned along side your name as I am definitely a fan! Being a sucker for breakfast and scrupulous critiques, I heartily enjoy reading your blog.

Keep up the writing and look forward to reading more!
