Sage

Sage Cafe - Breakfast Perth

Vic Park has a new addition and it’s a pearler. Sage Cafe, located behind the old post office, is already wow’ing customers with its breakfast offering and slick interior design. Polished concrete and wood finishing blended with brass and rose gold make for an inviting space. The chestnut leather bucket chairs are comfy. I had almost forgotten what it is like to sit on nice chairs at breakfast with so many cafes now having metal chairs!  Coffee is supplied by Freo’s Port…

The Sparrows Nest

Sparrows Nest

There was a period of time in Perth when giving venues an avian name was hotter than pulled pork. There is Cheeky Sparrow, The Old Crow, The Aviary, Swallow Bar, the list goes on and then in swoops a little Vic Park cafe on the tail end of this trend with the name The Sparrows Nest. It reminds me somewhat of the Moon Cafe with it’s bric-a-brac furniture and event posters plastered all over the walls. And with Nirvana seductively…

Sixteen Ounces

Sixteen Ounces

I first heard about Sixteen Ounces from fellow food blogger and all round awesome gal – Whitney (read her review here). Her photos on Instagram had me intrigued and I was keen to check out another new cafe in Vic Park. I first dropped in for a coffee a few days after I got married. The guy behind the counter was the NICEST barista I have ever encountered. He chatted to me the whole time he was making my coffee…

Harvest Espresso

In a sea of thoughtless “modern Australian” restaurants exists one of Vic Park’s newest additions – Harvest Espresso. This little gem, run by a dedicated husband and wife team, is a welcome addition to the ever improving Albany Hwy strip. It’s cosy and rustic inside; jars with dried wildflowers adorn the wooden tables and delicious looking pastries decorate the counter. I really liked the “natural” feel of the place and it seemed as if this cafe could be picked up and put in the middle of…

8/885 Albany Highway, East Victoria ParkBreakfast served all day Tues – Friday 7.30-3pm, Weekends 8am-2pmAfter looking around on fellow food bloggers posts for a great place to go for breakfast I decided to recommend that my “soon to be mummy” friend Chantilly Lace and I go to Crumpet. I had read many a great review about this small cafe that makes homemade crumpets and the one that cemented by decision was by The Food Pornographer. I took one look at…

901 Albany Hwy, East Vic Parkhttp://www.thebalmoral.com.au/Breakfast served Sundays 8am – 11amFully LicensedAfter reading the Balmoral breakfast menu a few weeks ago at a friend’s birthday drinks Coolio Ma-Cha-Cha and I decided that we HAD to try it specifically for the Death Benedict – hash browns topped with bacon, poached eggs and hollandaise. So we got a crew together for Sunday breakfast that included Mr Peter Baby, Johnny Awesome and a few more new characters – T-Spoon, Bento Box and Dim…

Rifo’s Cafe

CAFE HAS NOW CLOSED Rifo’s Cafe – 933 Albany Hwy, East Vic Park Breakfast Served All Day from 7pm, 7 Days a Week Fully Licensed and BYO Well it has been a long long time since I have been out for breakfast – my sister was my usual breakfast partner and she has moved to Port Hedland and any time I tried to arrange a weekend breakky/brunch with friends it failed because they are mostly messy booze hounds.
