Sage

Sage Cafe - Breakfast Perth

Vic Park has a new addition and it’s a pearler. Sage Cafe, located behind the old post office, is already wow’ing customers with its breakfast offering and slick interior design. Polished concrete and wood finishing blended with brass and rose gold make for an inviting space. The chestnut leather bucket chairs are comfy. I had almost forgotten what it is like to sit on nice chairs at breakfast with so many cafes now having metal chairs!  Coffee is supplied by Freo’s Port…

Lot Six Zero - Breakfast Perth

Me: “Hey Sarah, want to go for breakfast on Saturday?” Sarah: “Yeah ok, but I want pancakes.” Me: “…” Right. So as most of you know my sister has coeliacs disease and her craving request gave me the fear.  Where the f*** was I going to find good gluten free pancakes that didn’t resemble a dish sponge. I asked the people who know best – you guys! I was told Lot Six Zero had the best gluten free pancakes in Perth.…

Stimulatte

Stimulatte

It was one of those weekends where most people would see the weather and decide to stay in for vegemite on toast. Not me… I dragged Andy and George out in the storm for the purpose of yet another breakfast review. I think it paid off nicely with our visit to a little Subiaco cafe called Stimulatte. There’s only a few tables inside, including a breakfast bar facing Hay street. There are also plenty of tables outside that are undercover.…

The Little Pantry

The Little Pantry - Breakfast Perth

The Little Pantry has been a popular Shenton Park cafe for a while now. This isn’t my first visit either. My baby is an IVF baby and the clinic is a couple of doors up. I would stop in at Little Pantry for many a coffee and breakfast whilst having blood test after blood test. They kept me sane with good food and coffee. Don’t be fooled by the cosy shop front. There’s a beautiful courtyard at the back with…

Holly Raye’s

Holly Rayes - Breakfast Perth

Just like Maylands, Bassendean is going through a bit of a renaissance. There’s apartments being built, a small bar set to open any day now and fantastic cafes popping up, with the newest being a little beauty called Holly Raye’s. They opened last week to a loud applause of Instagram and Facebook love. Andy and I visited on Friday and I wasn’t the only person there with a camera. When you have food bloggers there that early, you know this…

The Little Shop of Plenty

The Little Shop of Plenty - Breakfast Perth

There are so many cafes serving fanciful breakfasts with things like slabs of bacon, fried chicken, waffles piled high with sweet adornments and don’t even get me started on the ridiculous milkshakes in mason jars trend. Whilst this stuff sure is Instagram worthy, where you’re going to get plenty of those emoticons with the love hearts for eyes as comments, it is nice to be able to go somewhere for the most important meal of the day and not leave feeling like you…

The Shipping Lane

The Shipping Lane Outside

Remember when Leighton Beach used to be the next crappy car park up from Port Beach? It has looked a bit more flash than that for a while now but I still feel like it is a foreign place when I drive around the windy roads with manicured gardens and towering apartments one can only hope to ever afford. The benefit to this development is the opening of nosheries that take advantage of the view and serve more than hot…

Esprezzo

Esprezzo

So here are Andy and I, sitting outside Noranda Palms shopping centre at 7.55am. We’re still in the car of course… not like the people who stand as close as they can to the automatic doors so they can be FIRST inside at 8am. We’re nothing like them, OK guys? Well, we weren’t there to do our shopping, we had come to have breakfast at Esprezzo cafe.  This wasn’t my first visit to this popular suburban haunt. I had dropped…

The Attic

The Attic 1

There are parts of Fremantle that are frozen in time and I’m not talking about from when the convicts were hanging out on High Street. Walking down the cappuccino strip is the same now as it was 20 years ago. It makes me roll my eyes and think “really? How are these places full?”. Some are charging in the high $20’s for food that your local shopping centre cafe could do a better job of. People should be heading to…

Little Bird Cafe

Little Bird Cafe

The latest cafe whose food has been filling my Instagram feed is Little Bird Cafe. When you make your food look amazing – EVERYONE is going to share it on the social media trifecta (facey, insty and twitter). Breakfast isn’t just about slopping up some bacon and eggs on a plate anymore! Filled with modish recycled furniture, Little Bird is a deceivingly large space. There is bar seating outside as well as a huge sweeping space inside. There’s plenty of…
